Branding agency, Wilsome: Mindwalk Yoga's anxiety management yoga is essential to keep us grounded and focused.

“The programmes are taught from a place of knowledge and experience - Zakiya is an experienced yoga practitioner and she's also a business veteran. She's worked in fast-paced, high-pressure working environments, so she understands how to create wellbeing programmes that work for businesses and the workplace context.“ Tamsin, Co-Founder, Wilsome

Mindwalk Yoga has been providing branding agency, Wilsome, with yoga for mental wellness sessions since March 2020 during the height of the lockdown in the UK. Tamsin, Partner and Co-Founder, shares her thoughts.

These are Tamsin’s words: At a time of great uncertainty and pressure for the business, the yoga for anxiety sessions has been an essential part of keeping us grounded, focused and mentally available to each other and our work. This is a time when it's easy to get distracted and overwhelmed by external events. That's an understandable response to what's happening to us all. Maintaining the capacity to hold all of that and then focus on the task in hand in day to day working is really important. The Mindwalk Yoga drop-in classes have been a central part of taking care of ourselves.

If we can't stay well, we can't fully function, we can't work efficiently, and we certainly can't serve our customers and clients effectively. So looking after ourselves - physically and mentally - is an essential part of running a resilient and responsive business. It's as much a part of customer service as it is a part of employee engagement. We have understood this for a long time at Wilsome. The current circumstances have served to highlight how critical wellbeing is in terms of having a robust business strategy for now and the future. So we're fully committed to ensuring that mental wellness is on the agenda and given the resource and time it needs in our business.
The programmes are taught from a place of knowledge and experience - Zakiya is an experienced yoga practitioner and she's also a business veteran. She's worked in fast-paced, high-pressure working environments, so she understands how to create wellbeing programmes that work for businesses and the workplace context. She's an engaging and highly personable tutor who can meet participants where they are and support individuals to build confidence and resilience.

The programmes are highly effective. Zakiya is teaching a curriculum that is evidence-based. It's not just "woo woo", fluffy stuff. The science that underpins her approach is robust - which means that people who join the classes will notice differences in their wellbeing and productivity. That translates into palpable benefits to any business that is supporting employees with a programme from Mindwalk Yoga.

Mindwalk Yoga is a business with a social mission. We're living through a revolution in consciousness - where we're realising that businesses with purpose are going to succeed over corporate machines with no ethical value systems. We're also seeing the start of a long-overdue rebalancing of power and influence towards people of colour and other excluded and discriminated against ethnic groups. Mindwalk Yoga works within this context and is a business that deserves our support and attention.
