BAATN

BAATN is the largest community of Counsellors and Psychotherapists of Black, African, Asian, and Caribbean Heritage living in the UK. BAATN offer a range of support tools and services to practitioners, psychology students as well as directory lists and other resources for people who are affected by oppression due to the colour of their skin and global white power. 

Zakiya Bishton, our founder, is a registered well-being practitioner with BAATN.


BLAM UK

Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health (BLAM) is a non-for-profit that aims to improve the outcomes for Black people by promoting a positive dialogue of social identity and culture through history, well-being and community support.

Founder, Zakiya Bishton, leads a module on BLAM UK’s Zuri Therapy Racial Wellness Course sharing mindful yoga to heal the emotional wound caused by racial trauma.

Central London Healthcare

Central London Healthcare is a community interest company that is owned and run by local primary care clinicians as a not for profit company to improve health and wellbeing in Westminster. They provide a number of services as commissioned by the NHS, supporting their patient population of over 200,000 people.

Mindwalk Yoga provides Central London Health with socially prescribed Yoga for patients experiencing mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression and who want to use yoga to understand and self-manage their symptoms.

Baobab Foundation

Baobab is a new type of Foundation that seeks to tackle the problems of racism, poverty and disadvantage by reshaping how black and racially marginalised led organisations are funded and supported. Baobab is set to launch in 2022 with the ambition of raising over £1billion in endowed funds in order to distribute £50m in grants every year. 

Founder, Zakiya Bishton, is part of Baobab’s Steering Group helping to shape and structure the foundation and Mindwalk Yoga is a member of Baobab.

Black Thrive 

Black Thrive is an organisation that brings together individuals, local communities, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations to address the structural barriers that prevent Black people from thriving. The Black Thrive offer a range of services, such as designing and delivering bespoke learning sessions to routinely address inequality, inequity, diversity and inclusion. Mindwalk Yoga and Black Thrive support each other with a shared mission for positive action on Black mental health.

 


Inside Out Well-being

Inside Out Well-being is a not-for-profit social enterprise committed to helping individuals improve their mental health and wellbeing. Inside Out Well-being’s mission is to improve access to mental health education and support. Inside Out Well-being deliver talks, workshops and healing sessions that provide psychology-based life skills to help individuals optimise their mental health and well-being. 

Mindwalk Yoga supports Inside Out with collaborative workshops focused on accessible yoga for mental wellness and cross-referrals.

The Goddess Projects 

The Goddess Project is a creative movement that seeks to empower Black women through therapeutic and wellness workshops. The Well-being workshops are created to help Black women foster healing and growth through the support of the collective. 

Mindwalk Yoga supports The Goddess Projects with collaborative workshops focused on accessible yoga for mental wellness and cross-referrals.

We Make Change 

We Make Change is an organisation that enables Social Enterprises, Social Impact Startups & NGOs to get volunteers with the skills they need from a community of over 25,000 ChangeMakers across the world. We Make Change has supported Mindwalk Yoga with skilled volunteers since April 2020.  

Dope Black Mums 

Dope Black Mums is a digital safe space for black women to navigate motherhood together. Dope Black Mums have created a sisterhood that aims to strengthen and support black women from the diaspora to parent from a place of empowerment. 

Mindwalk Yoga and Dope Black Mums support each other with a shared mission to provide safe spaces for Black women.

gal-dem

gal-dem is a media publication that is committed to telling the stories of people of colour from marginalised genders. With the use of their online and print magazine, they are addressing inequality and misrepresentation in the industry through platforming the creative and editorial work of their community across essays, opinions, news, arts, music, politics and lifestyle content.
